I recently installed this in my 2015 Silverado work truck that originally came with the IO4 system and I also did not have factory steering wheel/radio controls. I installed a IO4 to 8in radio Apple CarPlay upgrade kit from WAMS, along with a Denali cluster and leather steering wheel. This harness gave me the full functionality of steering wheel controls and radio controls that would have been absent had I not installed this harness. The directions were very easy to follow and I liked that everything was plug and play with no need to cut the OEM harness.

Description
This harness is designed for those 2014 – 2016 – Silverado/Sierra Trucks, with an IO4 Radio (Factory OEM 4″ Screen); and wanting to upgrade to an IO5/IO6 Radio (Factory OEM 8″ Screen) along with a leather steering wheel, with radio/cluster controls. With this harness, you will gain steering wheel/radio controls. In addition, if you upgrade your instrument cluster to an appropriate instrument cluster, this harness will also allow you to control your cluster from your steering wheel.
NOTE: This upgrade does require specific hardware – including an appropriate HMI, Radio Module, Radio Screen, and Instrument Cluster. It also requires custom programming of these modules. While WAMS performs the custom programming specifically for your truck/VIN, they can also supply the hardware.
